Project Kelvin is a submarine and terrestrial cable completed in 2010. The network connects Northern Ireland to North America and Europe. Hibernia Networks was selected by the Department of Enterprise, Trade & Investment (DETI) for Northern Ireland and the Irish Department of Communications and Natural Resources (DCENR) to deploy “Project Kelvin”. The cable lands in Coleraine, Northern Ireland and connects to Hibernia Networks’ terrestrial fiber optic ring consisting of 13 towns and cities, including Armagh, Ballymena, Belfast, Coleraine, Londonderry, Omagh, Portadown, Strabane, Letterkenny, Castleblayney, Dundalk, Drogheda and Monaghan.
